some snowshoeing
information...
Snowshoeing is an easy skill to learn. After your
first few tentative steps you'll soon find your own rhythm and be
striding out over the snow. A pair of ski poles help you to keep
your balance over any tricky sections that you might encounter.
We rent modern plastic snowshoes that provide a good
stable base regardless of the amount of snow under foot. They adapt
to all shapes and sizes of boot with simply adjusted straps.

some frequently asked questions...
How fit do I need to be?
So long as you are reasonably active you will manage fine on one
of our walks. We’ll walk at your pace, not ours. Our Tuesday
walks are generally more relaxed than our Thursday walks.
What do I need to wear & what should
I bring with me?
Most importantly you will need a pair of sturdy
boots (not shoes) to wear with the snowshoes. Your ski clothing
will be fine to wear although you might find though that you need
one less layer than you would normally wear when skiing. A small
rucksack is useful so that you can bring along a drink, some lunch,
your camera and sunscreen. Bring your ski poles if you have them.
Will I need a lift pass?
For some of our trips we use a lift to get to
our starting point, for others we will use our minibus. We’ll
let you know when you book if you need to bring your lift pass.
If you are not skiing and don’t already have a lift pass a
return trip on the lifts that we use will cost no more than 10 €.

where do we walk...?

Our walks explore some of the more remote
areas of the Portes du Soleil. We'll take you away from the ski
area and into the surrounding forests. We try to stay off the beaten
track as much as possible.

what do we do on our walks...?
That really depends on our clients. Do you want to
wander quietly through the trees looking for the tracks of wild
boar and mountain hares? Or would you rather test your lungs and
legs and hike to the top of a local peak to take in the view. We
can stop for a picnic or head for refreshments and lunch at a mountain
restaurant.
